"We had a minibus at our disposal at all times.  It was ideal for travelling back and forth to VBS, concerts and other special events.  We even ventured out to explore the beauty of Scotland when we had free time."          --Derek, Mission 1999

"Some classes were packed with a dozen children, while others were conducted in small group settings.  The Church's sunday school rooms and fellowship halls were where we conducted class.  We used the main sanctuary for opening and closing ceremonies each day and on the last day when we invited the parents and children back one more time for a farewell service.  The people who helped out from the local Scottish congregations were so generous and friendly.  They made us feel right at home.   They even put out a tasty spread of tea and sandwiches for us every day at the close of VBS.  I can't wait to go back again to be with the friends I made!"               --Garrett, Mission 2000

"Wow!
The Scotland Experience was wonderful!  God did so much through my team and the children that we encountered.  I really feel as though I have grown in my Christian walk- in fact I had so many lessons at once that I explained to my team that I felt as though I had spiritual "stretch marks!"  Thanks so much for this opportunity- I cannot thank God, you, and the church enough for helping me to reach this goal.  I will definitely always remember this trip as I go on to university and for the rest of my life."
In Christ,
Eda Lynda Bruce, Mission 2003

"Hello!  I am very excited.  As I shared with my team members, this trip was a revelation to me of God's grace and second chances and the reality of his calling in my life.  I cannot express enough gratitude to God's divine appointing of me on this past trip.  All I can say, is when do I get the privilege to go back?"

Mary R Feher, Mission 2003

"...the trip was wonderful.  We loved the local church we ministered in...Pastor Andrew and his wife love the people....they work tirelessly....It isn't logical to spend our money and our vacation time to reach people we do not know, but we do it gladly....We rejoice in God's calling on our lives.  We show we care, we touch lives, we reach out, show God's love, show how HE HAS CHANGED US,  LET HIS LIGHT SHINE.  WE CATCH THEIR ATTENTION, LET THEM EXPERIENCE cHRIST'S LOVE,  AND GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT A CHANCE TO WORK IN THEIR LIVES.  WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.     ...........WE HAD HIGH ATTENDANCE OF 28 AND AN AVERAGE OF 23.  WE ARE ALL TOUCHED BY THE KIDS AND WANT TO GO BACK.   ....AT THE FINAL INVITATION MOST OF THE KIDS WENT FORWARD AND THE FEW WHO DID NOT WENT TO THEIR TEACHERS FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IT MEANT TO COMMIT THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST.......MY HEART WAS TOUCHED BY THE NEEDS,  AND FOR THE CHILDREN,  AND THE ADULTS WHO ARE LOST AND HURTING.    .........THESE CHILDREN MAY NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RISE ABOVE THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES IF SOMEONE DOESN'T REACH OUT TO THEM.....PLEASE PRAY ABOUT HOW AND WHERE GOD CAN USE YOU!"

"WE LOVE YOU, ESPECIALLY THOSE YET TO GO TO SCOTLAND ON JULY 23."

"Greetings from Carlisle Pa:    I think I can put my Scotland experiences in the same way as one experiences childbirth.  For months, I went through a lot of preparation And then came the birth...tough and hard,...but after the birth and recuperation the hard times were easily forgotten.  Daily I have many wonderful memories of my 3 sons.  This basically is how I feel about the Scotland trip for missions.  Many months of preparation and then....it was tough...physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  But now that I am back home again And I have  the wonderful and beautiful memories of the  New Births we experienced.  I am praying for their growth and maturation just as I AM PRAYING FOR MY BIOLOGICAL children.  If you have not yet experienced attacks from the devil as you might be preparing for your mission trip yet to come, note that there was no let-up for at least 2 weeks before I left, and during, and since the mission is over and I am home.  Bur, praise God, we have the same power to resist the devil that Jesus had and it works!  WHEN WE RECOGNIZE THE ATTACKS AS COMING FROM THE DEVIL, WE CAN CALL ON THE NAME OF Jesus and in His name we can resist the devil.  We are in a strong spiritual battle and the devil is determined to keep all the souls he can so...go in the name and in the power of the blood of our Lord Jesus, our Savior.  He is everything you will need."

Sincerely,
Evelyn Bear (Mission 2003)

"Probably the most challenging fun I ever had.   The old saying is true:  you learn the most by teaching the material you study.  Not only did I memorize more verses of scripture than I had done in years, but I felt more spirit-filled than I have in a very long time.  God bless you all as you serve Him, the King of Kings!"

"The Spirit of the Living God is moving in Scotland.  Souls are being saved and Christians are being energized.  I praise God for those that answered God's call to go forth.  The VBS program was exciting and fruitful.  Daily tract distribution brought many opportunities to verbally share our faith.  At times we were faced with strong opposition, but God was faithful.  He is a strong tower!   Team unity and cooperation could not have been better.  Let us lift our hearts and hands and praise the eternal God.  I thank God for Gorbals Christian Center, Pastors Jim and Tom, Dr. Bill Orr, and Teams A,B. and C!  Nothing is too hard for the Lord!"
Joyfully...
Dave Herne, New York State.(Mission 2003)

"Blessings, blessings, blessings.  Sometimes God calls us to serve and we question  "why?'
Well, because of SCOT, Ltd., I was able to share a compact version of my testimony with others. And some folks were touched by it and were changed.  A young boy pressed to leave the VBS program by some of his peers decided to stay and stick it out.  I encouraged him and told him that God had His hand on his life. I told him that I believed in him.  That must have been something no one ever said to him.
So, how does God use us?  In ways only He can understand and will use.  I just want to say "thank you", SCOT for letting me serve this one life.  I pray that I made a difference in His kingdom.  What an awesome God we serve...what an amazing VBS it was!

God Bless You All.
Johnny Murray,  Hershey, PA. (Mission 2003)

"Hi,  I am shouting from Washington, N.J., the birthplace of SCOT!  The entire Scotland Experience was a growing time for me.  Lesson after lesson got hammered home in my soul.Far more lessons, in fact, than I could ever teach the VBS kids!   Anyhow, I learned most importantly that the cure to feeling that I'm not good enough to minister like this.  And the truth is, we are not.  But I realize that if we let God work thru us, there is no ceiling, no sky, no limit to what God can do thru us!  Remember, trials are going to come. That is normal in ministry.  But, then, if the vessel wasn't cracked, the blessings would never spill out.  God bless you and remember to expect to see God's hand in the work!

Love,   Eda Lynda Bruce (Mission 2003)

Hello:  A word of advice...remember to be flexible.  Never have I felt the attacks of Satan like I did on my mission trip.  But greater is He that is in me than he that is in this world!   The people of Plains, Scotland, were so loving.   They gave of themselves in so many areas....from feeding us in their homes, to taking a day to be our tour guides,  to preparing the church with ,many visuals,   and above all else,  bathing everyone of us and all the children in prayer.   We had a chance to present an invitation to come to VBS to the students at the local school on Monday.  What a blessing that was!  The church was very small, so they had to rent the building next door to help with more classrooms and games.   Throughout the week 110 children came to VBS.  Amazing, since there are only 200 children enrolled in the public and Catholic school in this predominantly Catholic village.  We were able to minister to 1/2 the children in the area.  We know for sure of 6 children who asked to and professed salvation in and thru Jesus Christ. That haoppened on Thursday when the ABC's of how to become a Christian were presented .   About ten other children expressed an interest in doing so also.  Oh, there was also an adult class too. It was wonderful.  Pastor Alan, his family, and the congregation were super people.  We are supposed to keep this to a paragraph,   so I better stop.  I could write for hours. God is awesome.  Be prepared for the Lord to use YOU in a mighty way.  I am still on a high!

In His love,
Darla Adams...Bruce, Wisconsin. (Mission 2003)

From Joe & Cheryl Smith,  Southside Union Chapel,  Olean, N.Y.

"We were sent by our churches just as Paul was sent by his church in Antioch.  Daily praise was our shield and eternal fruits was our goal.  During Sunday services at St. Enoch's God spoke clearly thru Pastor Andrew:  "Holy, holy, holy (Isaiah 6:1-8) , and "We need a new awareness of God for a revival,"  such as when Nicodemus learned that we must be born anew in the Spirit (John 3:1-17)  Throughout the week, God used the SCOT teams to carry and proclaim HIS message, first to the local church, then to the streets, just as Paul went first to the local synagogues and then to the gentiles.  Souls were won and the local church was equipped and edified.   Children and adults alike received a new awareness of God's love and responded with joy.  Yet, some did not respond,  so the work continues.  Team D, to Inverness:  you are covered with prayer so you do not need to look back.   Victory is assured.  Press on brothers and sisters,  press on....we're praying for YOU!!!! "

Blessings,
Joe and Cheryl Smith (Mission 2003)
